Thanks for your visit.

When I started this blog it was with the intention of writing opinion pieces on subjects I feel strongly about; the post Sorry Mum… explains a little more about why. I thought I might also try to write the occasional short-story or humorous piece.

But, soon after starting – and quite accidentally – I came across haiku, and this short form of poetry is what you’ll find most of here.

Please note: I don’t consider my writing true haiku; I really just adopt the three line 5-7-5 syllable format and do what I feel like within that. As someone who likes structure(!) I find this a comforting constraint, and I enjoy the challenge of maximising meaning from a few words.

Anyway I hope you’ll enjoy reading a few of my pieces, and I’d really appreciate any comments.
